Coin Collecting

So, I've been collecting quarters for a while and having a blast! Yesterday, one of my coworkers came over to give me a display that she got years ago for the kids and they never used. It is a beautiful and elaborate one, I'm delighted.

Also, I already had about eight dollars worth of unique quarters to stuff in the slots.

In addition to the map portion, there's also this display of state facts, including the bird, flower, date and order of statehood, state seal, and the state capitol.

And, the back has this chart of the state flags.

Basically, it's gorgeous.

I think I'll probably sell my other collection of states (at a markup, of course), and keep this one. It doesn't have slots for the six territory coins, but I have uncirculated versions of those in little plastic protective slips and it won't be hard to find a place to tape them (in their cases) for display.

There's only eight more released quarters that I need on my national parks collection.

And, just to show a favorite or two, here's Harper's Ferry, WV, featuring John Brown's fort.

And Texas, proudly displaying the lone star.

And the American Samoa, with some of the local traditional equipment. I think I want to visit sometime and figure out what it's used for.

And, just because I found it randomly in a roll of quarters and thought it was cool, here's a 20cent Euro. Wonder how it got here?
