In My Own Little Corner

Yesterday, my roommates being out of the house, I took the chance to pull up the blinds and sit in everyone's favorite couch, watching the traffic go by. Turns out, this is a beautiful place to rest.

Kinda reminds me of the lazy, quiet Thursdays in South Haven, with Lady Orr running tests on a few lone patients as Eyeglasses Gage did a fitting or two and I called people to schedule their appointments. Occasionally, we'd send someone over to get donuts from the shop across the street or, in the summer at least, I might pick up a blizzard at Dairy Queen.

South Haven days were good days. Even on Mondays, when things got crazy and we sometimes fell behind, they were good days. Nobody looking over my shoulder. I had my tasks, did more than anyone expected, and lived up to the responsibility and trust that had been placed on me. Much like my current job.

It's good to be able to take pride in your work.

And it is good to find rest and refreshment after your labors.
