Fester Loves

I'll admit it; I'm having a spot of difficulty coming up with a happy thought worthy of turning into a blog post right now. The trip this weekend proved that Roommate Laughter does like the guy she met online, and he likes her, so the last and closest of my local single friends is no longer single.

I'm happy for her, of course; this is what we were hoping would happen, but, at the same time... things are changing. I've never faced the sorts of challenges that she's facing right now and, given my estrangement from certain key figures in my life, I might not face these challenges even when (if) I do start dating. So, she can talk, but I can't answer.

Meanwhile, there's not a whole lot in my life that I can share from my life of equal importance or value to what's developing in her life, so it just feels awkward all around for me.

Nevertheless, I took this really cool picture of the moon out my window, between the fronds of Sally the Palm, and it turned out pretty good. I'm gonna go out on a palm-frond and even suggest that it's the best picture of a moon that I've ever taken. They just don't typically turn out well. I love the way the cloud catches the light here, and the blueness of the sky in contrast to the blackness of the silhouettes.

Kinda reminds me of a new favorite song of mine, from The Addams Family Broadway show.

Here, in this sweet libation,
Salvation resides.
Feel the sweet sensation
Revelation provides!
Full disclosure!
It's a game that we play.
Let your darkest secrets
Give you away!
Face your demons
And then happily say
I'm playing
Full disclosure
With all these crazy happy people!

Ooh! Ooh!

Let's hear from Fester.

I'm in love.
I know what you're thinking.
What could a fat bald person of no specific sexuality know about love?
But, I, too, am in love.
Fester loves.

Oh, Fester! Who is she?

 The Moon.
(nervous laugh)
Full disclosure!

Yup. Okay, I can dig that. I love that moon.
